Donate Food or Organize a Food Drive

Donations of food and other items empowers The Store to generously support more and more Baylor students. We always welcome donations from individuals, student and community groups and even whole classes.

Here are some easy ways you can support The Store:

1. Bring us something from our 'most-needed' items list

While we are always appreciative of anything you're able to give to The Store, there are items that just fly off the shelves and are among the things that make the biggest impact.

All donations can be brought down to the SOAR front desk and left inside our yellow donation lockers at your own convenience.

To download a list of our most needed items, click the link below:

We also send 'urgent need requests' out to our community of supports via our newsletter, so if you want to stay informed, please sign up here.

2. Shop our Amazon Wishlist

There is nothing easier than 'adding to cart' and having it delivered straight to our doorstep on your behalf. We've done the work of curating and updating our Amazon wish list so you can make a contribution to The Store from the comfort of your coach.

3. Organize a Food Drive for The Store

You might be a member of faculty, a local church, student organization or department looking for a fun and meaningful way to celebrate a holiday, or engage your class, congregation, group or community. Organizing a food drive on behalf of the Store is a great way to do that!

Some faculty members have their classes bring us an item from our wish list for extra credit, or have multiple classes compete with one another to bring in the most food (we can keep track of, weigh and tally each classes contribution over a period of time). Different student organizations can compete with others in a similar way.

To make this as easy as possible, we've created a guide that walks you step-by-step through the process of organizing a successful donation drive for The Store.

If you have any questions about hosting a food drive with your group, please email: Lauren_daSilva2@baylor.edu.

4. Make that budget surplus count

If you and your department are looking for a meaningful way to use your budget surplus at the end of the fiscal year, why not consider donating anything from a month to a year's worth of The Store's need for shelf-stable items from Amazon via Baylor's Procurement Marketplace.
Your department could make sure we have up to a years' supply of toothpaste, laundry detergent, tuna or granola bars. For more information, email Lauren_daSilva2@baylor.edu.

5. Host a Meal Prep Kit Packing Party

Another great way to get involved is to let us host you and your group (class, student organization, church life group, or friendship circle) for a Meal Kit packing party. We regularly put together meal prep kits for our students learning how to make their budget's stretch further by learning how to cook and use the items at The Store to their fullest potential.

Our packing parties are fun, impactful to both our guests and our students, and most of all a meaningful way to give back to the Baylor Community.

To learn more about our packing parties, or to make a reservation please email Lauren_daSilva2@baylor.edu.
